Today I have an idea to propose for an upcoming, future quilt/lapse production I’m thinking about!

I’ve had this idea for a couple of years now, to involve every quilter I know in addition to hundreds more that I haven’t met yet, into an elaborate collaborative production. The idea is VERY SIMILAR to all these beautiful ‘virtual choirs’ that have been popping up during this quarantine. But in the end, it would be presented something more like my faster paced quilt/lapse videos. And this would not be about me . . . this would be all about all of YOU!

This is not something I’m considering right away. It may be best to begin it as a Winter project while we’re all cooped up in our homes. Right now I’m just trying to get a feel for what everyone else thinks.

So, my question is; Would this be something that all you quilters would be interested in participating in? Would you consider recording a quick 10-30 second bit of video footage of you working on a project, (with your phone) then sending it to me, to edit and present it in a similar “Zoom-like” production? Of course I will supply simple instructions and parameters. It won’t be that hard.

And to give you the best idea of what I’m thinking about, this beautiful video came across my desk yesterday . . . and I can’t stop watching or thinking about it!! Sure, the song is beautiful, the children, even more so! But I particularly want you to pay attention to the direction of this video! I’ve had several ideas of how I want to present my idea, but none of them ever came close to the exquisite direction and editing of this video by “One Voice Children’s Choir”! It now has me rethinking how I want to present my vision for this upcoming project. (I would never want to copy it . . . but I’m certainly inspired by it).

I’m COMPLETELY open to feedback, suggestions and honest critique!

ANY and ALL thoughts are WELCOME!!!

Please feel free to drop me a line at:

And . . . PLEASE spread the word. The more people involved, the better!
